A Tale of Finding Faith Amidst parents Divorce
Amidst the challenges of her parents’ divorce, Tabitha discovered unwavering stability in God, with the children’s church in India shaping her path toward dedicating her life to Jesus.
Meet Tabitha, a well-travelled young woman whose journey of faith has led her from a Pentecostal Church in India to becoming an integral part of Immanuel Church in Tel Aviv.
– When my parents divorced, it felt like the world around me was collapsing. God was the one person who was stable and on whom I could lean on.
Growing up in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and India, Tabitha found stability in God during her parents’ divorce. The children’s church in India played a crucial role, guiding her through challenging times and leading her to dedicate her life to Jesus.
Tabitha’s educational pursuits took her to Tel Aviv, where she discovered Immanuel Church through a university handbook. Despite initial reservations about the different worship style, she was drawn to the church’s theological depth and soul-nourishing sermons. Or to use her own words,
– I found the sermons to be “solid food” for the soul.
Returning to Tel Aviv after a hiatus forced by the Covid Pandemic, Tabitha found a welcoming community at Immanuel Church. Despite struggles with depression.
– Two weeks before I came to Israel, I had been diagnosed with depression, so I had a lot on my mind and in my head. I found that Immanuel Church was a very nice place to come to. Here I could really relax and be myself with the ladies I met. I found that they were genuinely interested in me.
Today, Tabitha leads the “Young Adult Group,” fostering a sense of community and faith among the youth. Her dedication extends to reaching out to young attendees, inviting them to gatherings and hoping for more youth engagement during services.
